Today Redux: Why Didn’t I Start Six Months Ago?

Six months ago, I seriously considered starting a blog.

I researched blog posts about starting a blog. (How meta!) I even kept posts about starting a blog open in my browser!

I considered suitable platforms, features, names, formats, structures, categories, and topics. After all of this planning, there was an awesome blog edifice in my head. But it was only in my head. Nothing ever got published.

Why?

Because I forgot the most import blogging advice I’d read: just start writing, today.*

Today was six months ago. Today is now. I just had to start writing.

* I’ve lost track of the original blog post where I read this advice, but I’m pretty sure it was at john.do.
